Annyeong, everyone! I don’t know why, but I’m feeling a bit productive today! Maybe because it’s my last weekend before school? *cries* And I’m getting anxious about being more inactive, so I am pushed to making up for my past (and future) inactivity? 😉 whatever the reason is, I am thankful for it!
I can finally write on one of the most raved about products in the (Asian) beauty community, cushion foundations! I’ve been planning to share my thoughts on this, but haven’t been able to as I have been busy..traveling & eating, and also a teeny bit lazy *woops* to write blog posts.
Anywho, what’s important is, I’M BACK! And I’m giving you my honest opinions on these cutie cushion foundations! So, are they worth the hype?
Uhmmmm… 101% YES!?! If you’re always on the go, then you’d love these babies for sure! IThey’re your all-in-one skincare & make-up BFF! They give you SPF, great foundation coverage and are super easy to use (yes, they’re noob friendly! Hooray for us, right?!). Some of them even has Niacinamide (for brightening) and Tea Tree (to control sebum), you just have to know which one to use, and where to look for them! The only downside of cushions is that some of them can be pricey? They’re still worth a try & worth the hype for me though! Just do research so you’ll know which ones are yays and nays! 😉
Btw, some examples of cushion foundations I’ve mentioned above are:
Lapothicell’s Tone Up & Cover Cushion (SPF50+/PA+++)* – with Niacinamide
Cathy Doll’s AA Matte Powder Cushion (SPF50 PA+++)* – with Tea Tree + Korean Herb Extracts! This one’s pocket-friendly too!
If you’re looking for a great cushion with a light but brightening coverage, then you’ll love Lantree Treasure Concealing BB Cushion (SPF 15).
Although I found the cushions above pretty amazing, my favorite cushion would still be Troiareuke’s A+ Cushion (SPF50+ PA+++)!
For the price of $38, I would probably NOT repurchase this anytime soon, but I swear, this is the best cushion I’ve tried (so far)! It lives up to its claim about being skincare first before make-up. After using this for weeks, I noticed my skin got better & brighter! My mom would always know that I’m using that cushion because I always look extra blooming with it, she says (lol, thanks for being such a supportive mom!). The build ups & pills I included on my Troiareuke Cushion review* before? They all went away after a few uses! I don’t know how (or why) it happened, but I’m really thankful as it made me love this cushion even more!
*I’ve linked my extensive reviews of these cushions, so you can know more about them; more photos & swatches of the cushions are there too, so please go check them out!
Anddd that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed reading my straightforward & honest thoughts on cushion foundations & the hype around it! I highly suggest you try one if you haven’t yet! But if you have any good cushion foundations in mind, please leave a list down below! I would really love to try more cushion foundations as soon as my no-buy ends!
See you soon,
Kim ❤

Hi! I was wondering whether you prefer a dewy or matte finish? And whether you prefer low or high coverage?

Hi Crystal! It depends on my skin’s condition, actually. Since I have dry combo skin, whenever I get super dry, I prefer dewy cushions. If I’m on the oilier side, then semi matte ones. As for the coverage, I always go for light-med! 😊
Hope this helps! 💗

Oh I see! In that case, do you usually stock up on different types of cushion so that you can wear them depending on your skin condition on the day? I’m just curious of how different people use foundations for different skin types.

Hmmm at first, I didn’t stock up or anything, but yeah, now I’ve quite a few so I can pick which one to use depending on skin condition 😊
I’ve my go to cushion though, Troiareuke A+ Cushion, which I bring with me everywhere hehe. I find that it works well with me no matter what my skin condition is 😊

Oh, that’s really nice! It’s a really great idea to have several different cushions to choose from depending on the skin condition. 😀
