Natural Skincare: Review on Valley Botanicals Products

For a few weeks now, I’ve been using the products that Emma of Valley Botanicals sent me. She sent me these products in exchange for my honest review. So today, after using the products religiously, I finally decided to share my thoughts on them!

Emma sent me the Valley Botanicals Deodorant Cream, Hydrate + Repair Face Cream and Sore No More Salve.

Valley-Botanicals

Before we start with the review,Β can I just say that I love their packaging?Β

They all have a different packaging, but they all give out the same feel! That the products are all made with natural + certified organic ingredients, and are good for you! I love how clean everything looks, and the materials that were used are sturdy too! IΒ was already in love with their packaging even before I got the products, and I fell more in love with it when I saw the products in person!

Now onto the review part! πŸ™‚

1. Deodorant Cream

Valley-Botanicals-Deodorant-Cream
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Arrowroot Powder, Baking Soda, Beeswax, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Clary Sage Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Bentonite Clay

Thoughts: Among the 3 products that was sent to me, this Deodorant Cream intrigued me the most. I have never used one, and this cream didn’t feel like a cream at all! It feels more like a balm, and once you put it on your underarm, that’s the time it starts to be more cream-ish. I had a hard time using it at first, but after a few minutes, I started getting used to it!

To be honest, this is one the best deodorants I’ve ever tested in my whole life!Β I know, it sounds too good to be true, but this thing really works! I’ve used a lot of drugstore, high end and natural products for my UA, and this is one of the few products that worked for me! (I’ll make another post about armpit care to share what the other products are πŸ™ƒ)

Verdict: πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ out of πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„

This product kept my UA fresh the whole day! Also, you only need an ample amount of it, and you’re good to go! It did not stain on my clothes, it kept my UA from sweating drastically, and whenever I do sweat, there’s no bad scent or whatsoever. I am seriously crazy for this product! You seriously should try this, as it did wonders for my UA!

P.S. I usually sweat a lot, especially on those days when I’m more anxious about stuff lol, and I still can’t believe that this managed to take care of all my UA issues!

2. Hydrate + Repair Face Cream

Valley-Botanicals-Face-Cream

Ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Calendula, Horsetail, Helichrysum, Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Calendula Hydrosol, Helichrysum Hyrosol, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Beeswax

Thoughts: My first thoughts on this product was it smelled and felt weird to put on (it’s my first all Natural face cream), but a little goes a long way.

On my first application, I used it under my sunscreen & a tad bit of make up. It felt like it had super tiny beads in it (like 5x tinier than usual scrub beads but you can still feel it).Β True to its claim though, it worked great as a primer! However, after a few hours, my face started getting itchy, it started from my chin and cheek areas, and went up to my whole face; it got worse so I decided to wash my face with water, and the itch went away. I applied this on my neck too, but my neck didn’t react that way. I thought maybe the ingredients on my sunscreen & make up weren’t a good match for the Hydrate + Repair Face Cream’s ingredients. So I gave it two more chances, (1) I used it with sunscreen alone, and (2) I used it on its own. My skin reacted the same way, some tiny itchy bumps started showing up on my face too! I even tested it on my wrist, and my wrist started getting bumps too. *yikes*

Valley Botanicals Face Cream Inside
Verdict: πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ out of πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„

This product has a potential to be great, because a little really goes a long way, and it gives great hydration for the skin. I feel like it would last up to 24 hours if only I didn’t get the need to wash it away. I was sooo sad that it ended up not working for me.

I would not recommend it to people who have sensitive skin, and are not used to using products made with natural + certified organic ingredients. I still have the tiny bumps on my cheeks, and it has been almost a week since I last used this. Up to this day, I do not know which of the ingredients caused my skin to react that way. I did some research, and only got that some essential oils may trigger your skin to breakout, but like I said, I’m still not sure whether or not they were the real culprit.

3. Sore No More Salve

Valley-Botanicals-Sore-No-More-Salve
Ingredients: Cayenne, Ginger, Sunflower Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E, Essential Oil of Clove, Essential Oil of Peppermint

Thoughts: I am a sucker for muscle balms, so when I saw this on Valley Botanicals, I immediately thought that I wanted one for myself! My first thoughts on this was that I love its scent and consistency! I also love that it’s travel-friendly! I always get back pains, so I always travel with a muscle balm, patch, etc! I’ve used this more than I’ve used the other products they sent me, since my back pain can really get intense, and this has worked great in soothing the pain so far!Β I love how it works almost immediately too!Β I wish its effects could last longer and be more potentΒ though! Like I said, I’m a sucker for muscle balms, and as time went by, I’ve learned to love the more potent ones better!

Verdict:Β πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ out of πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„

I’m only giving it aΒ πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ out of πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ because it works GREAT, but it’s not strong enough for my liking. Am I making sense lol it sounds contradicting but that’s how I feel about this product! I would recommend this to people who wants to soothe their muscle aches without feeling much of the burning sensation that muscle balms usually have.

Last thoughts on Valley Botanicals:

Even though I had a bad experience with the Valley Botanicals Hydrate + Repair Face Cream, I still love their brand overall! I would definitely purchase my own deodorant cream once I run out of it!

I’ve always told Emma that I admire her & her vision for Valley Botanicals. I can see how she only wants to give her customers the best products to satisfy their skin needs; she’s always open to customer feedback & improvement, and that’s what I love about her!

Anyway, enough of the cheesy stuff, I hope you enjoyed reading my review! Let me know in the comments down below if you have any thoughts / questions about them!

  1. Ooh this is a brand I could really get behind! I had no idea you can get deodorant cream!! that’s so useful for asthmatics who don’t like the sticky feeling of roll on! It’s a shame you reacted that way to the face cream too as it was starting to sound like a good product!!

    • A lot of people liked the face cream too but it really didn’t work out for me 😦 the deodorant cream is the total opposite though! I believe deo creams are less harsh on the skin too so you’ll never go wrong with it! Hope you can try it out soon πŸ™‚

  4. Thanks for sharing this! I’ve never heard of this brand before but I’ve also tried a bunch of differnet natural deodorants and haven’t found the perfect one yet. Perhaps I will give this a try!

  5. The hydrating cream sounds great, just a shame that you seem to have had a reaction to it. I’m on the hunt for a good cream that will help with my sensitive and dry skin.

    • I know 😦 a lot of people were saying the cream worked well for them even if they had sensitive skin, so I guess it’s still worth a try? Hehe

  6. These Valley Botanicals products all sound awesome. The Hydrate + Repair Face Creamis something that I would be afraid to try because I sometimes have sensitive skin but I would still try it. Sore No More Salve is something I would love to try along with the underarm cream. I would think a cream would work best for underarms yet I never tried any. Thanks for sharing these awesome products.

  7. The deodorant cream sounds really interesting! I went through a time of making my own deodorant (until we added our third child and I no longer had time for that!), I am going to check it out!
